MEDIPLORER is a pioneering Japanese professional skincare brand built around the cosmetic potential of carbon dioxide (CO₂). The brand’s technology was developed by renowned Japanese dermatologist Dr. Masato Hiki, who dedicated years of research to creating an original formulation capable of delivering the benefits of CO₂ to the skin.
The foundation of MEDIPLORER is its patented CO₂ skincare technology. When CO₂ is applied to the skin, it promotes vasodilation and supports oxygen transport through the natural Bohr effect. This helps improve the delivery of oxygen to the skin and creates an environment that supports skin metabolism and the skin’s natural renewal processes.
The original formulation was developed in 1997, followed by the creation of the world’s first CO₂ gel mask. In 1999, the MEDIPLORER brand was officially launched, establishing a new approach to professional carbonated skincare. The CO₂ gel mask has received patents in Japan, the United States, Australia, South Korea, Canada and the European Union.
